First, I’d like to share my history with hand eczema.

1. Predisposition to atopic dermatitis

I have always had a predisposition to atopic dermatitis.

Ever since I was young and throughout elementary school, I had severe symptoms of dry and itchy skin due to atopic dermatitis.

By the time I entered junior high school, my symptoms had eased up considerably.

However, my joy was short-lived.
After a while, a new problem arose.
That was severe dryness of my hands, the cause of which was unknown.

2. Can’t live without gloves

My hands were just so dry and crumbly.
The skin always peeled off.
The red, bare skin hurt when I touched anything.

I couldn’t touch anything with my bare hands so I had to wear cotton gloves all day long, whether in class, at home, or when sleeping.

3. Water and detergent stings

Water and hot water stung my hands.
Detergents like shampoo, body soap, and solid soaps all stung too.
Not only did they sting, they also tripped my hands of its oil and made my fingers crispy.

That’s why I wore plastic gloves over my cotton gloves whenever I showered. 

The worst one was household detergents.
I couldn’t touch it with my bare hands because it dried my hands more than soap.
If I used it, it made the dryness of my hands immediately worse.
That’s why rubber gloves were essential for chores like dishwashing, laundry, and cleaning.

4. Irresistible itching and blistering

Even with all these precautions, my hands continued to stay dry.

When my hands became dry and crispy, just a slight bend of my fingers would cause them to split open.
It was extremely painful.

At the same time, it was irresistibly itchy – especially the small blisters on my fingers.
When I scratched them, liquid would come out and they would become sticky.
This made them itch even more.

The itching was most painful at night.
I could tolerate it while I was awake but while I was sleeping, I would unconsciously scratch it off.
I would soak my hands in ice water placed under my pillow while I slept.

5. Use hand creams to prevent dryness

As someone who suffered from hand eczema, hand creams were a must.
I couldn’t go anywhere without it.

I’ve tried countless hand creams in search of one that truly worked.

I thought that I could get beautiful hands again if I applied hand cream.

But…

Applying hand cream didn’t improve the dryness

No matter how many times I applied hand cream, the dryness and itchiness of my hands didn’t get better.

True, hand creams helped to relieve the pain for a while.

From “hand care that replenishes oil” to “hand care that replenishes oil AND 〇〇” 

A majority of the ingredients in hand creams are oil.

In fact, this is the reason why hand creams didn’t improve my hand eczema.

In order to improve dryness, the skin must be moisturized.

However, hand creams (oil) can’t provide moisture.
It can only prevent moisture from evaporating from the skin.

However, my dry hands didn’t have enough moisture in the skin in the first place.

After realizing this, I changed my hand care regimen.
Instead of using hand creams (which only replenish oil), I started using a moisturizing cream that replenishes both oil and water at the same time.

That’s when my hands changed dramatically.

In just 2 years, my 10 years of suffering ended!

The method of hand care is exactly the same as when I was using hand creams. I simply changed the product I was using.

After using water, after taking a bath, or when my hands felt dry and itchy,
